What we do

Interior demolition in Metro Detroit.

Selective tear-outs for remodels and turnovers. Dust contained, dumpster staged, hauled off clean.

The tear-out done right

Demo that preps the job, not just wrecks it.

Interior demolition is the controlled removal of walls, flooring, cabinetry, and fixtures to clear the way for a remodel or a rental turnover. Done right, it is not swinging a hammer at everything in sight. It is selective work that takes out exactly what needs to go, protects everything that stays, and hands the next trade a clean, square starting point. In Metro Detroit that matters, because the housing stock runs from century-old Detroit and Grosse Pointe homes with plaster and lath to newer suburban builds where a wrong cut hits plumbing or a load path.

Apex Construxive handles demo as the first phase of a build, not a throwaway step. We plastic off the work zone, cover the floors and pathways, and stage a dumpster so debris moves straight out of the house instead of tracking through it. Because we are one owner-led crew across every interior trade, the team tearing out your kitchen is the same team that frames, tiles, and finishes it. That means no dead time waiting on the next contractor and no arguments about who left what behind. When the demo is done, the site is swept, the dumpster is hauled, and the framers can start Monday on a prepped slab.

What interior demo covers

Selective demolition for remodels and property turnovers: walls, flooring, cabinetry, and fixtures. Plastic up, dust contained, dumpster staged, hauled off. We remove kitchens and bathrooms down to the studs, pull old flooring back to a clean subfloor, and open or close walls so the rebuild starts on a surface that is actually ready. The framers show up Monday on a prepped slab, not a mess.

Demo questions

Interior demolition, answered.

What is selective interior demolition?

Selective demolition means removing only the parts of a space that need to go, such as a wall, a kitchen, old flooring, or a bathroom, while protecting everything that stays. It is the controlled alternative to a full gut, and it is how most remodels and turnovers in Metro Detroit start.

How do you keep dust out of the rest of the house?

We seal the work area with plastic dust barriers, cover floors and pathways, and stage a dumpster so debris goes straight out instead of sitting inside. The goal is a clean tear-out that leaves the rest of the home livable while we work.

Do you haul away the debris?

Yes. We stage a dumpster, load it as we go, and haul everything off when the demo is done. You are handed a clean, prepped space ready for framing or new finishes, not a pile of debris to deal with.

Can the same crew do the rebuild after demo?

Yes. We are one crew across every interior trade, so the same team that tears it out can frame, tile, and finish the space. That means no gap between demo and rebuild and no finger-pointing between contractors.
